Nappy Hire Terms & Conditions

By agreeing to our nappy hire terms and conditions and by purchasing a nappy hire bundle you agree to the following:

Hiring a nappy bundle: Choose a nappy collection to hire for a duration of 4, 6 or 8 weeks (or 12 weeks for newborn). You will be required to pay a refundable security deposit for the amount applied to your order upon checkout. Additionally, you will also be required to pay for the nappy hire shipping both ways. Your hire period will begin from the date you receive your hire bundle. During your hire period, please ensure that you are washing the nappies as per the washing instructions that you are given. Please do not use any stain remover or bleach on the nappies. Once your hire duration is complete, you must wash nappies and ensure they are thoroughly dried before returning them.

Warning: To avoid any risks to babies, toddlers and young children we recommend all packaging you receive from cloth journey to be kept out of reach. Packaging is not a toy.


We do not offer change of mind refunds and therefore, refunds are not available for our hire service unless the product is found to be faulty. Please note that hire nappies are secondhand and there may be pilling or small marks but should not be faulty in any way. The elastics will be firm, waterproofing intact and nappies will have been sanitised. You must inspect the products you hire or purchase from us on delivery and must within 3 days of delivery notify us in writing of any evident defect/damage, shortage in quantity, or failure to comply with the description or quote. You must notify any other alleged defect in the products as soon as reasonably possible after any such defect becomes evident. Upon such notification you must allow us to inspect the product. We recommend that you wash the nappies prior to using them, as although we have sanitised them we cannot guarantee they have not come in contact with any contaminants during shipping and handling. 

  • If you experience pregnancy loss or your baby is born sleeping, we will refund your hire fee and security deposit on return of the unused package

  • If you notify us of your change of mind before your package is sent, your hire fee will be refunded but we will retain your security deposit.

All nappies and accessories in your hire bundle (all nappies, wet bags, wash bags and the calico bag) must be returned at the conclusion of your hire period (unless they have been purchased in a separate transaction after your hire commencement). Once nappies are received and reviewed, your security deposit will be refunded. If there is damage to any products, including but not limited to; strong stains, dye transfer from darker items, smelly or unwashed items, this will result in the loss of some or all your security bond at our discretion. If you lose or permanently damage any items beyond replacement, we will invoice you the full retail price of the items to pay within 7 days. If you do not pay within 7 days without making an agreed upon arrangement, we reserve the right to forward your details to a debt collection agency. 

• You are responsible for the cost of returning the hire package to us - we offer flat rate $15 package labels that we can send to you for your return shipping. 

• You must post the contents of your hire bundle back to us within 48 hours of the conclusion of your hire period and provide a tracking number (unless you have contacted us and we have agreed upon a later date).

• If you fail to post the contents of the hire bundle back within this timeframe, we will deduct $20 per day from your security deposit.


Return of bond: Once we have received your hire package and it is seen to be in acceptable condition, we will return your security bond. This may take up to 3 business days.
